Zakia Afrin is now in Japan

Zakia Afrin, a Dalit girl, lived in Ward No. 25 of Khulna City Corporation (KCC). Since Zakia’s father died long ago, she became very helpless with her old, poor mother. Zakia was living a miserable life with her mother by working in an NGO school for a very low salary. She had an overwhelming desire to turn the wheel of fate, but somehow she could not figure out a way. In the meantime, Zakia successfully completed the caregiver course from Keraniganj TTC in 2019 and the Japanese language education course in 2020 with the support of DALIT organization. Then she started preparing to go to Japan. Meanwhile, Zakia could not go to Japan as everything was suspended due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. But she did not give up. She was waiting for the right time with strong willpower. But due to the increase in the cost of going to Japan after COVID-19, Zakia was not going to Japan due to the lack of 1,00,000 (one lakh taka only). Later, through the successful advocacy of DALIT, the organization arranged 1,00,000 (one lakh taka only) for Zakia with the help of donor organization, Manusher Jonno Foundation. As a result, Zakia Afrin went to Japan in 2023. Now she is working successfully in Japan. Zakia Afrin is a shining example of how the impossible can be made possible with strong willpower.
